In preparation for the First Annual Orange County Homeless Veterans Stand Down, Furnishing Hope worked with non-profit partner, Veterans First, and Sarah Kim-Lee of the Social Security Administration to coordinate the shipment of 26 boxes of men’s khaki slacks to Orange County, California. Starting their journey in the San Francisco Bay Area, the generously donated Louis Raphael slacks were labeled by Sarah’s young daughter and picked up by United Parcel Service (UPS) Package Car Driver, James. Labels were sent to Sarah’s home and the entire shipment was delivered in great condition, for free by UPS. A few days later, the slacks safely made it to the Veterans First Thrift Store, ready to be used for the Stand Down.
We are very grateful for the service bestowed upon our Homeless Veterans by all partners involved. Special thanks to Sarah Kim-Lee; Victoria Strasser, and Bruce Mac Rae of UPS, to make this possible.
Check out the photos below of UPS picking up the boxes, taken by Sarah.
