Michael was in the Army for about 4 1/2 years. During his deployment in Iraq he was injured by an IED attack and left temporarily paralyzed. His Traumatic Brain Injury and a continuing severe PTSD are from previous engagements. Michael is now on the road to recovery and thankfully being cared for by my wife and full time care-giver, April. They were awarded a home in Orange County in 2012 and in February, 2012 Furnishing Hope will be furnishing their home. They are expecting their first child in July of this year. Since his retirement from the military he has been an avid “restorer” of old furniture and amateur carpenter of tables, book cases and other various pieces. Michael’s inspiration comes from taking something that has been through a lot, an old beaten up object and giving it a new perspective.
